Safety is always top of mind so we were finalizing the design of the space around the trail with wide views, clear lines of sight and lighting locations so users feel safe and can clearly see what’s ahead of and around them.

Before we begin construction, a lot of thought and planning goes into our trails. Last week, we met on location with our design team to take a look at the North Phase ll of the Trinity Forest Spine Trail, which will be under construction later this year.

The trails in Dallas connect people to nature. Trails like the Trinity Forest Spine Trail (once complete) give us access to beautiful green spaces that can’t be reached by car. The Trinity Forest and AT&T trails offer breathtaking views of the Great Trinity Forest!

This community is what makes the Dallas trails so great. Last week, we headed out to the White Rock Lake Spillway to meet up with our recent giveaway winner Oscar, and had a blast! We were able to chat about the trails, travel, bikes and gear…all the things we love!

Have you spotted the new art installation along the Katy Trail? Artists Jeff Gibbons and Gregory Ruppe have created an installation that runs just north of the trails South Trailhead on N. Houston Street to just south of where the trail intersects Harvard Avenue.

The Katy Trail Caboose is one of the 2021 Preservation Dallas Achievement Award winners. It was submitted by The Friends of the Katy Trail because it’s a beautiful example of dedication to preservation. It’s also a nod to the trail’s past and a bit of Dallas history.
