I’m sorry, I simply cannot be cynical about a technology that can accomplish this.

Recently I learned about a man who has trained 1,000+ people to block wind and solar projects. I read through all his training materials, presentations, and seminars. Here's what I learned about him and how his students plan to "win the war on clean energy." 🧵

We need to publish less, publish better, retract agressively articles that have been shown to include manipulated data (images or otherwise), and investigate thouroughly authors engaged in these manipulations.

It is not something I have personally been confronted to (and I doubt I ever will, given my field), but it is a perfect illustration of all the perverse incentives all scientific actors face, from researchers to universities and journals.

Science Has a Nasty Photoshopping Problem * Unfortunately, many scientific journals and academic institutions are slow to respond to evidence of image manipulation — if they take action at all. My opinion piece @nytimes - #MyGiftArticle https://t.co/VLC0wb2hor

The Battle of Bamber Bridge, 1943. Racist US military police attacked black US troops on British soil. US military authorities demanded the town’s pubs impose a colour bar, the local landlords responded with signs that read “Black Troops Only” which pissed them off. A THREAD

All across the country, local governments are restricting and banning clean energy projects. I heard rumors that misinformation on Facebook was a major cause of this. So I joined ~40 anti-wind and solar groups to see some of it for myself. The results were bleak. 🧵

8 months since Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Russia’s ability to wage conventional war keeps weakening. Russia’s defeat is slowly, painfully coming closer. It's crucial - and increasingly costly - to step up Western support. Some reflections 1/

Well done! We could learn from how they lead digital transformation of public services and healthcare. Did you know 🇺🇦 launched ePrescribing for antibiotics during the wartime (as planned)..?🇨🇭eHealth strategy set ePrescribing as a priority goal in 2008… still nothing achieved!
