Why is it a lie? Albertans don't overpay. Period. But this is perhaps the most manipulative section of the the clip. Where she says, in effect "Hey Albertans are getting screwed, but if that's what they want..." The Premier is a used car salesperson. And a bad one.

So once again, for the cheap seats, compliments of @disorderedyyc , here's Smith promising that she "no one would touch anyone's pensions" when it clearly was the plan to try and sell Albertans using their own money on a fancy sales pitch the whole time.

@TheBreakdownAB Finally read the Macleans article on Smith (recommend). So enlightening. These 'concepts' of hers - APP, police force, etc, have been percolating in her for YEARS. And none to do with helping Albertans, only feeding Smith's ego & authoritarian tendencies.

@TheBreakdownAB Dude. We overpay😂😂😂 Albertans average income is one of the highest if not the highest compared to the rest of the country. In turn the average Albertans contributes more income tax, EI and CPP than the average Canadian. Everything she said in that interview makes sense to me.

@AkumVirk Dude. The amount that you pay in is directly correlated to how much you get out. So if Albertans pay the maximum amount of pension (and there is a max) they also get the largest amount when they get their CPP.
