So, if you catch some of the headlines today, know that actually the study was proof gentle parenting works, although I'd argue that their perception of 'works' is not a great one. 8/9

Maybe that's why they deliberately misinterpret gentle parenting and continue the same old tired trope that "gentle parents don't say no!", "gentle parents never raise their voice!", "gentle parents are low limits", "gentle parenting is only for gentle children". 6/9

Even if parents plough in to defend gentle parenting they are still giving the source what they want - interactions, reach - and MONEY! These articles are a win, win for them. 4/9

If they frame a piece to say "gentle parenting doesn't work" they know they will get hundreds and hundreds of comments and interactions - and in today's world, these comments mean MONEY!. 3/9. #parenting #gentleparenting

Gentle parenting is a trendy punch bag for the media. They know it draws comments from older generations who were raised in an authoritarian way and think "kids today are out of control because of soft and woke parenting". 2/9. #authoritativeparenting

Don’t feel guilty. You’re not a bad parent, your brain is wired differently.

This post is for every parent who’s ever flinched at the dinner table, snapped after the fifth “Mum!” or cried in the bathroom because the noise just wouldn’t stop.

And it’s more common than you think, especially in parents who are neurodivergent themselves, or have neurodivergent children.

When you're a parent with misophonia, the daily noise of family life can feel like too much. It often causes you to explode and then feel huge guilt afterwards.
