🚨 WATCH: Pro-Hamas rioters tried to sabotage the concert of the Israeli Philharmonic in Paris and lit a flare in the hall - they almost caught fire themselves. The activists were removed from the hall - the Philharmonic continued to play.

@Noahpinion The general is selectively telling the truth. He did not specify which missile threats were being intercepted. Patriot has better ABM capability, but its radar has only 120 deg coverage. SAMP/T's 360 coverage could be better against complex cruise missile and drone attacks.

@Noahpinion This isn’t true. The Ukrainians have said that the patriots are better. They’re just running short as the US can’t manufacture enough of them so Ukraine needs both but I do hope that Europe develops better air defense. They will need it more than the US will in the upcoming war.

@Microinteracti1 @CEMA_FR Latest versions of SAMP/T (recent production) vs dated versions of PATRIOTs does not seem to be an apples to apples comparison. Have any NATO members given Ukraine recent production/revs of PATRIOT?

“They are tying everyone into their web so nobody can afford for OpenAI to not succeed. They are trying to make themselves a systemic risk” @benthompson The most succinct/accurate description. And both executives messed up this week and said this quiet part out loud

My feed is a nice combination of the government seizing the means of production and the government becoming the senior creditor of the means of production. How about neither!

Also, Pro works like a wizard, requests go in, and sometimes magic comes out with no explanation. In early experiments, I find when I interrupt it with my mundane and petty concerns, the results sometimes feel like I have broken the AI's rhythm midflow, Man from Porlock style.

I smell a rat. Why does #SamAltman #openapi need the taxpayer to guarantee their debt if they are going to make hundreds and hundreds of billions of dollars? Has he just done a cash analysis and realised he's cash flow short?

So the cash-incinerating company at the epicenter of the AI Ecosystem, whose CEO is already taunting non-existent short-sellers, wants Federal taxpayer guarantees on its debt issuance…?! AYFKM…???!!!

Deutsche Bank is exploring ways to hedge its exposure to data centers. It's looking at options including shorting a basket of AI-related stocks and buying default protection via synthetic risk transfers.

This paper shows LLM legal interpretations are unstable and often unlike what ordinary people think. Shows LLMs can look confident while missing how non-experts read legal language. The authors test many models on insurance scenarios using simple yes or no questions. Small

REPORT: The USS Nimitz, a cruiser, and four destroyers have entered the South China Sea near the disputed Scarborough Shoal, possibly the largest U.S. deployment there in over 25 years, following Secretary of War Pete Hegseth’s pledge to counter Chinese gray-zone tactics.

Why does China make all the electric cars, and not Europe? Why does China make all the batteries, solar panels, and drones, and not Europe? Why does China have a much stronger software industry than Europe? Why is China a leader in AI, and not Europe?

Honestly, modern Europeans should look over at China, and then look at how they've turned against technology, and they should be ashamed of themselves.

I was really surprised when I first saw this chart on water use by data centers. Given how much it gets discussed as a supposed problem I would have expected it to be more than this.
