Huge moment of pride watching my first PhD student Keren Klass present her years of data showing that #genetic diversity in howlers is counterintuitively increased in a #fragmented #landscape, while #microbiome tracks diet. @UTSCresearch

🦧✨ End the pet primate trade — support the Captive Primate Safety Act! These brilliant, ultra‑social animals don’t belong in basements or backyards. They need family, trees, space, and a wild life — not isolation and suffering under our roofs.

We suggest that when moms that can divert more #energy to infants via #lactation, infants can achieve earlier independence, benefitting both. 2/2

New lab paper! Led by Sam Stead. #Infant #mortality for the Rwenzori #colobus is associated #male #immigration and replacement. But sometimes occurs months afterwards. Infanticide may occur but loss of male caregivers may also impact infants.
