Twitter has clarified their position. From this point on, apps that attempt to recreate the Twitter experience will not be allowed to access Twitter services. Unfortunately, this ultimately means that Talon will cease to work. https://t.co/48hr1SflYE

Twitter quietly updated its rules after banning certain clients.

This issue is not unique to Talon. All, or most, third party apps appear to be experiencing the same issue.

Unfortunately I have no more information about this than anyone else has. Twitter said on their developer console that they sent me an email, but I don't seem to have receive one. It seems like the app is still working for some people, but not everyone (most?)

Looks like Twitter has taken out support for Talon as of last night. I am working to see if there will be a solution for this and have no updates at this time https://t.co/AwxPTejlW4

Looks like you'll have to switch to the official Twitter client for now

All third party apps are having the same issue. The fix will have to come from Twitter's side.

Not many paid apps are open source, of course. I think it is an amazing way to say "thank you" to everyone that has helped make the app a success. If you like what I am doing, feel free to say "thanks" back, by giving me a star on Github: https://t.co/RwRHCHNrH8

I have been a big advocate of open source work for a long time. Many of the components that go in to my apps are already open source. For me, this was the obvious next step for the app.

If you are wondering what the future of the app will look like... From a user perspective, you won't notice much difference. The app will still be distributed as a paid app on Google Play and updated there. The update frequency will also remain the same.

I am taking an exciting new step for Talon today... The Material Design version of the app (that is currently on the Play Store), is now open source. This is a pretty significant contribution, to say the least! Repo: https://t.co/Ig2xnafZOA Details: https://t.co/7X3VPlOxKJ

There are many articles out there that are painfully uninformed on the changes. I don't blame them, unless you are using these services every day, it is difficult to understand the scope. Just be aware that many conclusions are simply false. Your fav apps won't just stop working.

Nothing is breaking for you, the app will not stop working, and you very likely won't even notice the change. I discussed the affect of these changes - with a few news sources - yesterday: https://t.co/P2WSZIC0GO https://t.co/wlS81H93l3

Earlier this year, Twitter announced the shut down of its Streaming Services API. Many, including us, believed that it was the end of third party Twitter apps as we knew them. However, it's actually...

For those of you wondering how Talon will be affected by Twitter's new API changes... It won't be. Unless you use "Talon Pull" or "Live Streaming" (basically no one does) you won't notice a change, at all. It's not like Talon is going to fall on its face. https://t.co/e2z06QaQPE

Today we’re excited to announce the general availability of Account Activity API. Now developers can get started for free, upgrade to premium as they scale, and move to enterprise when they need even more subscriptions or enterprise functionality.

Yesterday, @TwitterDev asked that apps stop letting users post tweets, likes, and retweets from multiple accounts at a time, for spam prevention. I wanted to make everyone aware that today's beta removes this support from Talon, as per their policy. https://t.co/VAvMESL6EA

v7.1.0 is out now! It brings the ability to save tweets for later. Don't want to publicly like a tweet? Add the "saved tweets" swipable page to remember to come back to it later!
