Lewandowski, @Gabrijela_D, Watson, @TaeyoungHw, @hopihoekstra, @sauvagem1, @Noncodarnia and co examine the effects of the lncRNA Tug1. KO male mice are sterile. The locus has a cis-DNA repressor as well as encoding the RNA with trans effects, and an ORF https://t.co/iDWAC3q9V4

Delighted to share our new preprint. TUG1 lncRNA and TERT mRNA are nuclear localized. Using single-cell RNA imaging, splicing analysis and ASOs we show that intron retention is the driving event for their nuclear localization. For more, check https://t.co/gs9vaBLPzL

Excited to share our recent work about PRC2-RNA interaction: RNA is necessary for proper PRC2 localization in human pluripotent stem cells. A collaboration with @YichengLong with full support from @Noncodarnia and Thomas Cech labs. https://t.co/cPORJmaJ0p

I just published "Constructing A Graph for Genome Comparison Swiftly" https://t.co/Wrv83kmbNP A bit more than a short tweet to explain how we can use graphs to compare genomes.

In a new paper out this week in @GenomeBiology, researchers at LIBD show the human genome is most sensitive during the first five years of life, more than any other time in a person's life. These findings highlight the potential biological impact of early childhood adversity.

Work from @ajprice20, @fellgernon, @andrewejaffe and co, measuring DNA methylation in human cortical neurons over the first 23 years of life. Huge changes seen in first 5 years, Regions of dynamic methylation would not be seen in cortical homogenate. https://t.co/qFGdq3bZEN

Excited to share our work @pnas! @ATStemCell @Noncodarnia @EvanHass108 TERT activation is heterogeneous among cancer cells and contrary to expectations, TERT mRNA is mostly retained in the nucleus. https://t.co/0LERqNKx4a #RNA #cancer #telomeraseRNA

I always wondered why should a lncRNA that’s translated to peptides be called a lncRNA. Now, it turns out there is a highly abundant mRNA that isn’t translated to protein and acts like a lncRNA! What should we call that? Very interesting work!

Good news for people doing cell type-specific or single cell #RNAseq in human postmortem brain tissue (protocols typically are limited to nuclear RNA): At the gene level, the nuclear transcriptome is representative of the whole transcriptome https://t.co/0vhbvWN5OV 🧬🧠 (1/4)
