If I understand correctly, this breaks @GenomicsOtc and thus one of the channels we used to bring data from the field into a database with maximum ease. Which means that I have a week to find another way to do that. Sigh... This was one of the things I feared when Musk took over.

Perfekt formuliert, was mich zunehmend an #wisskomm stört: Wenn wir über Paper plaudern, nachdem wir nur den Abstract gelesen haben oder am Ende des Tages einen unterkomplexen Szientismus vertreten, dann schadet das mehr als dass es hilft.

I spent the whole day going through a few alternatives, just to be sure that we can keep using data form the field when/if Twitter goes down. We might... move to a Telegram channel. But this sucks, Twitter was the perfect place for something weird like this. A CHANNEL OF BUCKETS!

So, a while ago, we started to use Twitter -- and our account @GenomicsOtc as a nice and easy way to pipe photos and other metadata from the field more or less directly into our central database, with the added effect that we have something from our project in the public. Now...

I never thought that the day would arrive that this would happen. Twitter has just suspended the journal Scientific Reports for impersonating the journal Nature.
