Most importantly, the intervention worked. Teens reported increased readiness to eat more veggies and less salt after the intervention.

Teens appreciated that the program materials reflected their lived experiences as Somali American youth. “I liked how they included that a person can belong in more than one culture.”

A paper out of our lab led by grad student @_lauren_eales (with contributions from @SarahCGillespie, Reece Alstat, our PI Dr. Gail Ferguson, and Dr. Stephanie Carlson) was a top-cited article in Child Development from 2021-2022! 🥳🥳
Very cool to see this work being cited by many other awesome researchers interested in this topic and the pandemic. Can't wait to talk with more people about my follow-up to this work at @SRCDtweets this year and at my dissertation defense in May @UMN_ICD!
