What many seem to overlook, is that SLP has a price like other tokens. The price of SLP, however, is not determined by supply and demand, but from the value of the liquidity pool. The APY shown is simply the return of the SLP price over the the past 14 days.

1. 70% of the fees generated by opening and closing positions go to the liquidty pool. 2. Funding rates are designed to encourage a balanced pool. Means the postitions of the LPs (like 10 ETH short mentioned above) are on the earning side of funding rates.

Under normal circumstances, that already provides a small edge to LPs as statistically, most traders are unprofitable over the long-term. Here is how liquidity providers are rewarded for providing liquidity:
