We truly fail to realise how Maharashtrians can glorify the great Battle of Pavankhind but fail to spread even 1% of awareness on Battle of Tungabhadra. The Battle of Varada-Tungabhadra also involved 300 Marathas & was even more dramatic! Let us know if you have heard of it.

@TMahrattas Honestly speaking, tactically and strategically Pavankhind has far far deeper connotations in that era. The grit shown by those two bands after a night-march in resisting the Hammer, the Siddi Masud horde and breaking through the Anvil, the Vishalgad siege is unparalleled. 🙏🏽

@FlankerfireAjit At Pavankhind they had a pass which let them funnel the enemy horde & also vantage points to attack the enemy with ranged weaponry. At Varada-Tungabhadra it was an outright fight on flat, plain terrain & the entire army was of high-class Sardars. Things had come to such gravity.

We have seen these cute Statuettes of Keladi Chenamma & Karofar Namudar Chattrapati Rajaram Maharaja under Ganapati Idol. Females on Right of Chenamma (Centermost) are unidentified, but on her Left is is the Chattrapati himself. Do you know who's on the Left of the Chattrapati?

@TMahrattas Yes. It was a rearguard fight to save Chhatrapati Rajaram Maharaj from pursuing the Mughal forces of Syed Abdulla and his son Hasan Ali Khan, while traveling to Ginjee in 1689. More difficult than Pavankhind as it was fought on plains between Varda and Tungabhadra.

@TMahrattas This was special documentary on ABP Mazha which showed home where Rani Chenamma hid Chhatrapati Rajaram Maharaj. This home was built exactly like how home of a Ninja is built. Full of hidden passages. Do see.
