This is most likely my last time posting here - I have moved to Bluesky I am not going to delete this account as the history part of me wishes to maintain this part of my story. But I do not want to be a part of something run on hate, fear and division.

Brain Changes Trauma has profound effects on the brain and its everyday function: 1. Hypersensitive Amygdala – Making people see danger where other people see manageable stuff. 2. Weakened Hippocampus – Making it harder to remember or think clearly. 3. Weakened Prefrontal

What is trauma? Trauma isn’t the event that happened to you. It’s the psychological wound that happens after. The good news? Trauma can be healed when properly addressed. We can’t change the past, but we can heal its effects on our minds today.

"Mothers led the fight to ban the belt in Scottish schools." Yes they did. Parental campaigns change the future. They take courage & determination.
What’s been achieved in Scotland, the UK, and across the world because of parent campaigning is monumental. Whether it’s @MorrisonBeth bringing in crucial restraint + seclusion laws or @suzannezeedyk reminding us that mothers were behind the fight to stop the belt in schools

I have been wanting to put on a course for this for a while, but have not dared... but with the support of Sally from @wunderledteaching it's going to happen next year. 4

We need the same for play. A person who I knowledgeable about play and can both support the play environment and colleagues as well as advocate for why is play is essential. 3

I was totally inspired by the roles of pedagogista and atelierista from the Reggio Emilia Approach that support the pedagogical and artistic development of the preschool/projects. 2

Totally excited about creating a course... It all started with a dialogue about play together with a group of Swedish educators - including my good friend Linda Linder where I suddenly said - what we need is a "lekarista" - Lek is the Swedish word for play. 1

'Did you just watch it?' a child asks in 2040 at the Gaza Genocide Museum. Yes, we watched hundreds of thousands of children being killed, maimed and starved – and we just kept watching.

We’re about to see Israel and the US attempt to say the strike was simultaneously “ineffective” yet still requires a “firm response” in spite of urging several nations to show restraint while Israel commits genocide

Also my own children have had to take time off school for their mental health in order to be at school. Posters like this mean the school is failing Because attendance is NOT a problem at schools children enjoy going to
