Saddened to hear of the death of academic Joseph Nye. He coined the term soft power, championing it until his death. His legacy lives on, as we use soft power as a key component of our diplomatic efforts to meet some of the greatest global challenges of our time.

It was a great honour to be asked by @BishopAngaelos to be a keynote speaker at this evening's #ContemporaryMartyrsDay event. Stories of persecution often go untold, but they are no less important. The media can play a vital role in telling those stories, bringing justice & hope.

Freedom of religion or belief is a universal human right. Today, on #EasterSunday, we remember the millions of Christians around the world who are denied that freedom. Retweet if you think everyone should be able to practise their religion or belief without fear of violence.

Eva Schloss survived Auschwitz after her family was captured by Nazis during WWII. Her father and brother did not survive the camp. On #HolocaustMemorialDay we honour the millions who lost their lives and pay tribute to those who survive. #HMD2021

Today marks an important day to commemorate those who suffered and lost their lives under Nazi persecution. We must remember the victims of hate and racism so that future generations learn to promote truth and tolerance.   #LightTheDarkness
