Patrice Talon is one of the best current african presidents, the fact that there is a coup against him is indicative of west africa coups mimetic nature. Armies are doing them because it's "en vogue". If he survive, he needs to purge every security organisation.
🇧🇯 Tentative de coup d'état en ce moment au Bénin. Les putschistes n'ont pas pu prendre possession de la @PresidenceBenin. Ils ont seulement les chaînes nationales @benintvsrtb.

This is an absolute waste of valuable land. Building sprawling bungalows instead of multi floor apartments is a waste of land and ensures housing is going to be expensive and the sprawl makes transportation a nightmare.

London used to build stuff so much faster. London's tube network was built almost entirely in the space of 17 years. The DLR went from route picked to open for passengers in 5. We are told that this is impossible today. It isn't.

New: Dutch minister admits being blindsided by China’s retaliation in Nexperia chip crisis In which I read an 18,000 word transcript of Karremans' Nexperia hearing in the Dutch House of Representatives so you don't have to https://t.co/Bdr83NVrHh

Just crazy how many people the Elizabeth Line shifts. 800,000 journeys are made per day. For comparison the M1 motorway is responsible for 140,000 daily trips according to the AA. Birmingham, Manchester and Glasgow should all get a Crossrail, and London should get a second.
There will soon be an Elizabeth line train through the core section of the network every three minutes on Saturdays, as TfL prepares to increase the service. https://t.co/PJsKAVDi1Z

In 2006 there were 167,000 NHS England hospital beds Now there are 130,000 In 2006 there were 33,000 GPs Now there are 28,000 But sure, the problem is the “NHS model”, and sure, Reform’s insurance based model will sort it. Ps. I have some magic beans for sale

Wait. The government bunged a bunch of money at energy companies to cut bills, but included no mechanism to stop them from just trousering the cash if they wanted to...?
Labour has taken £150 off the costs of energy bills. Energy companies need to pass on every penny. Alongside @Ed_Miliband I’ve written to suppliers calling for action. https://t.co/SBrS71db09

just hire more GPs!!! why do you consistently refuse to fund the NHS! there are unemployed doctors out there desperate for jobs! they are moving to Australia because they can't work here!!!
For too long people have had to sit on the phone endlessly on hold to their GP. It's infuriating. From now on, almost every GP practice in England will offer online consultations. This is how we're making our NHS fit for the future.

You are watching something you’ve never see before brother. Complete linear growth from the age of 19-24 and becoming the BEST at EVERYTHING he has put his mind to (3PT shooting, clutch time shot making, iso scoring, two way play, etc)

The other thing to be clear about is that MMT wasn’t created as an ideological project. Its founders came from different traditions and converged on a shared, empirically grounded account of how modern monetary systems actually operate.>
A short🧵 on MMT & power: First and foremost MMT is a description & does not contain a prescribed pathway for working class liberation. That was not what MMT as a theory set out to do. However, even a description has political implications & here I set out a couple. >

British journalists have no real grasp of the issues they cover so they subject politicians to ridiculous memory tests as it’s the only idea they have for asking challenging questions on fiscal policy (which few journalists/pundits understand)
This is embarrassing from Zack Polanski. Party leaders should know how much the country they aspire to govern has to pay in debt interest.

They need to be honest and say the reason they haven’t just joined the Greens is cause they’re obsessed with starting their own project & being at the forefront of it. I hate to say it but it all comes down to ego.
"They are not a socialist party. They are not a socialist organisation." Jeremy Corbyn explains why he won't team up with Zack Polanski's Green Party.
