@adam_voigt @UnofficialOA @HazleMitch @Strickomaster My daughter had to have restorative conversations with the person bullying her. She stopped reporting the bullying as the restorative conversation just re traumatised her.

I fear with ever increasing accountability this picture will only get worse… https://t.co/bS4AUYYzlZ

I really worry that some people will interpret inclusion as inclusion at any cost & we will see rise to some serious lethal mutations (many of which will resurface from 15-20 years ago).
40,000 teachers left the profession last year with student behaviour being a significant factor in their decision. We need to explore the full extent of the damage done by restorative practice with minimal sanctions. @Strickomaster and I discuss: https://t.co/wbDkgjTlpG

There seems to be an even bigger groundswell of voices telling teachers who do the job how to do it/behaviour. Yet these voices either haven’t worked in a school either ever or for 5 seconds, sell snake oil or have self righteous views. Dunning Kruger lives large.

MASSIVE issue for some school. Imagine 10% of parents awkward. Now with AI 20%. So easy for them. So 200 parents. Then trust insist head meets parents face to face. Cripplingly inefficient. Huge opportunity cost. Massively feeds parents’ sense of entitlement.
An issue with complaints is a parent believes without question a child’s view of a situation (sadly often to get themselves out of trouble), an AI written complaint is fielded blaming endless staff, consuming endless SLT time. For some schools this is suffocating & needs to stop

My honest view here, if most schools are going to issued this grade, is neither. The terminology here isn’t very uplifting at all for staff and communities.
Headteachers: Trying to help @Ofstednews come to a better decision re grade name before the reports start being published. If you had to choose between these two which would it be? Pls RT - it’s not too late to tweak this!

An NPQ in how to talk to parents for Heads/leaders won’t solve this. Clear national direction on complaints would hugely help.

@Strickomaster Thanks so much Sam. It was great to hear all about your journey at Duston, especially as I’m starting my first headship in January! A really useful insight into theoretical and practical transformational leadership. It’s not a race! Well done sir 👏👏👏

It will be interesting to see if primary schools with outcomes above national and secondaries in the top 35% of schools with A8 scores above national end up with expected judgements & not strong….

A huge pleasure to support NITE today with their MA in Educational Leadership. It was a real privilege to speak to so many colleagues & look at theory & reality in school leadership.

I don’t really understand why behaviour and attendance were merged. They’re different entities.
@Yorkshire_Steve Agree. Behaviour could be absolutely exemplary and if attendance is weak you are left with needs attention or worse. Which collectively says to parents behaviour is weak too.

Herein lies the issue with the competitiveness of teacher pay, what’s required to become a teacher, the responsibility & level of work involved relative to the level of pay…..
26.4k a year for minimum wage 40 hours a week. Teaching salary is 30k a year to start with. So you’re telling me I have to go to university for 4 years to then start off on a salary 3.6k more than someone who works at Tesco? That makes sense…

Children in schools need calm & purposeful classes, where they can learn & the teachers can teach. They don’t need every 7 minutes disrupted by a pupil who feels the rules don’t apply to them. Keeping that pupil in the room, ruining the lesson for all isn’t inclusion.
