Strong government policy to address cost of living, provides the largest benefits to those in greatest need. Eliminating the provincial gas tax provides the largest benefits to those who drive the most, and own the biggest vehicles.
Manitoba’s proposed six month hiatus on the provincial gas tax will cost the government the same amount of money as offering free public transit in Winnipeg, Brandon, Thompson, Selkirk and Flin Flon, for almost two years.
