A few days ago we celebrated Val Korah's spectacular contribution to competition law (and her fascinating personality). It was a delight to participate in a conference with such distinguished speakers. Here's a peak on what was discussed, prepared by our amazing LLM students.

Deeply honoured by @UOHS decision to award me yesterday the St Martins medal for my contribution to competition law enforcement, particularly as this recognition comes from one of Europe's most active competition authorities and last year's recipient was Margrethe Vestager.

5/n Lastly, we propose 5 policy options to operationalize this taxonomy: (1) Translating sustainability effects into monetary terms (via customer/consumer surveys, willingness to pay studies, and conjoint analysis); (2) Qualitative analysis; (3) Updating the error-cost framework

3/n Then we provide a systematic taxonomy of the competition-relevant sustainability harms and benefits that a merger may have. These can involve price or non-price (e.g. quality, choice, innovation) effects.
