@SportPsychTips This is beneficial in youth sports, but when do you start to specialize? After having two athletic kids HS coaches seem to want you to specialize and push it hard in the bigger schools. In small schools you have to play multiple sports because you need to, to have teams.

@SportPsychTips If you can't play multiple sports and you happen to be specializing, be sure to have other hobbies and mental/physical breaks from that activity.....balance in life is key

@SportPsychTips Some high school coaches do a pretty good job of working together so kids can play multiple sports and some don't. When my son was in school they made it almost impossible. He would have football practice and jog over to the baseball field and pitch the game 20 minutes later.

@SportPsychTips My son played two sports all through high school and now he plays high level college baseball. Second sport benefitted him greatly.

@SportPsychTips Coaches are for it as long as it doesn't interfere with their sport. Sometimes just letting the kids be kids they will sample many sports on their own.
