Today, we had 190 year 6 students from Primary schools across Torbay, participate in a football festival at Quinta playing fields. Our Year 9 CNAT Sport students led on different football stations during the afternoon. They were fantastic and a credit to the College. #ambition

Wow, what a day! Today we had The Spires College sports day. Students represented their tutor group in athletics, swimming or basketball. They were all incredible, demonstrating their teamwork, resilience and sporting ability. Results will be announced tomorrow! 🏆 @SpiresCollege

It was a successful evening for our Year 7/8 rounders team. We played Coombeshead Academy and St Cuthbert Mayne A and B team. Our batting was on fire 🔥 and we won all 3 games convincingly. Player of the match was Curtis. Well done everyone involved! 👏 @SpiresCollege

The Yr 8 rounders team had their first fixture of the season tonight. Both games were closely contested finishing in a 6-6 draw with Torquay Academy, and a 7-5.5 loss to Coombeshead Academy. It was lovely to see students representing the College for the first time @SpiresCollege

Today, we took 40 year 9 GCSE PE students to Plymouth Marjon University to take part in sports workshops, and learn all about Sports Science and Sports Therapy. The students were well engaged and have hopefully been inspired to pursue a career in sport. #ambition @SpiresCollege

We are so proud of all 60 of the students we took to the athletics competition. Every single one of them embodied the Spires College attributes. Their conduct was exemplary all day and they were a credit to the College! #ambition #resilience @SpiresCollege

Our final well done goes to our winners from Tuesday’s competition. Esmae and Igor both came first in their events. Esmae won her high jump competition, whilst Igor was the winner of the Discus. #ambition #champions @SpiresCollege 🥇🥇

Tonight was a good night for athletics at the college. Our Yr 8 team took part in a competition with schools in the area. They all performed really well but a special mention to Khloe and Esmae who won their events. We can’t wait for the South Devon competition! @SpiresCollege

Our penultimate ‘This Girl Can’ session tonight was Clubercise. All students and staff participating had a great time. They danced with confidence whilst waving their glow sticks around, and getting fit. #Glowsticks #thisgirlcan @SpiresCollege

The College Climbing Club went for their first outdoor session of the year on Tuesday afternoon. The students had an amazing time and climbed some really challenging routes, all just a five minute drive from the college site! #climbing @SpiresCollege

Our ‘This Girl Can’ session today was delivered by Torbay Taekwando club. They taught students basic self-defence skills and how they can protect themselves in the community. All students engaged well and learnt some valuable life skills. @SpiresCollege #thisgirlcan #selfdefence
