With a further delay on the stone, it is currently in Nottingham at the stone merchant, not with our stonemason, so we are unable to confirm an unveiling date. This has been all out of our control. We do not wish to do an outdoor event in December or January. We will update soon

Thank you so much. These will be given away for free or pay What You Want (to raise money to a good cause) at the unveiling. Includes a newly discovered photo of the 1896 fa cup final. More details to follow shortly.
Fantastic event booklet produced by Clive Nicholson @SpiksleyBook for the soon to be unveiled headstone in Burngreave Cemetery for #swfc's first Club Captain at Hillsborough - Ambrose Langley. A wonderful piece of work by Clive and a credit to a Wednesday #Legend

The stone for Langley’s headstone is currently being shaped and then part of the design added at the stone merchants in Nottingham this week. It will then move to West Yorkshire for additional engraving and gilding. We will fix a date soon for the unveiling.

The stone for Ambrose Langley’s headstone has made it to Rotterdam. Next stop is London port, so we are starting to get close to knowing when the project will complete. The proof copy of the commemorative booklet arrived this week and is definitely worth having.

Today @swfc travel to @Wrexham_AFC to play on the historical Racecourse Ground. The ground where our favourite SWFC legend Fred Spiksley played against Wales legend Billy Meredith in the 1898 Wales v England international. @Dunsbyowl

Delighted to find a 'new' photograph of the 1896 FA Cup final. Over 20 years since I uncovered the last ones. This one is a beauty and it will be included in the Ambrose Langley commemorative booklet for the headstone unveiling - provisional date is in September but not confirmed

BIG card. Legendary England star Spiksley (Spikesley) from a very difficult series. Off to USA goes Fred! Listed at £750. Sold! This collection is far tougher than the later, blue-back Cup-Tie series also by FJ Smith.
