Do you have a section in discord where people can drop their going live twitch channel announcement??
And if so... does it bother you if people use it. But you basically have NO IDEA who said person is..🤔

By all means I love to help and support people in their growth with streaming..
But just an fyi... we do notice when the only interaction you have with us... is to let the community know you're live 🤭

i went through a few iterations of the self promo section. At first it was a free for all, then i made it an activity threshold with a levels bot, now it's just a paid feature - if you're subbed to me anywhere, kofi, twitch, patreon, etc, you can post in there and i dont care

Love this as well. So I have the role on the side for subs only that shows up when someone is live and they can click on the streamers name there!

I have it set that you have to say something like 10 times in the discord before you can use it... Literally just say hi a few days in a row gets you to a level that unlocks it .. cuz it irritated me that people I've never seen would post in it

Mine is called 'shameless promotions' so people dont feel bad about posting there to promote their stuff. But. Every single name that goes through there are people i know and have probably raided me at some point. I do not have randoms in there at all!

I also haven't really had any randoms use my self-promo channel, but I like having one, if for no other reason than it's a great way to find out which of my chatters are also streamers for raid purposes and such ^_^

I do enjoy the raid ideas coming from here. But most of the time I give my chat the option to suggest someone that they want to raid.
BUT I mainly check that section to see who I know that is streaming.. if that makes sense

I do not. I feel like they barely work. What I do have is a role for streamers and a bright color associated with people who are actively live.
My Discord isn't the most active though, admittedly

this is precisely why i switched to a role reaction based system where my bot will automatically post the notification (without pinging) & no one else can post in that channel. i audit it regularly & remove people that are no longer active in the community.

Yea I have my discord set to where people can't @ everyone. Or anything along those lines.
I feel like the pings get crazy. But I do see some people that try and use the @ everyone still 🤣

That or i might just get rid of it completely.
I do have the sub section on the side that shows when they're live as well!
But sometimes it just sucks because people I watch and friends I watch can't necessarily sub. So it tears me from side to side 💯

I’ve set mine up so that you have to be a “regular” to post. If I post my links in someone’s discord it usually is accompanied by spam of cat pics cause I’m too awkward and shy to talk lol

So as a mod of one discord: it bothers me that 2 people are constantly spamming it but don’t chat in her discord or even watch her lives.
As a streamer, I don’t have one and I rarely post in public going live ones but I’m more active in their dc

Yea.. I have never utilized any go live sections in others discords...
But I always thought it to be nice to have one in mine..
But sometimes I just get more like that feeling of it being used just to gain something from our community.

I have a section in mine. People use it, the only issue that I have at times is when someone spams their link in the promo so I put a limiter
