Keeping thousands of protesters in order at the highly volatile site of the proposed Chinese mega-embassy should not justify rolling out the red carpet for autocracy into an excessively grand palace. The restricted protest space has already put both police and protesters at risk.

Diplomatic premises are for mutual respect, not excessive grandeur. These unelected CCP officials monopolise the state but suppress the people’s will. We'll protest on 8 Feb, 14:00-16:00, at Old Royal Mint. We must safeguard democracy, transparency, and the rights of locals.
