Well, Northeastern has an unscientific vaccine booster requirement for people who had breakthrough Covid infections, mandatory testing once a week and an indefinite mask mandate. That’s better than closing, but being the best of the worst is not actual leadership.

@thefactualprep
Vax and booster mandate for the college kids, though. So Northeastern is only half nuts? Better than full on stupidity, I suppose, but these are supposed to be the people teaching critical thinking skills to our young people.
@ShiraDoronMD
On the flip side, they are requiring boosters....when we're seeing first hand that they are useless against Omicron (and ignoring that a huge chunk of the student population has natural immunity, and is at extremely low risk, regardless). Oh well, half a glass, I suppose.
@ShiraDoronMD
My son's university in SD, as well as many other schools in "flyover" country, will be open normally, with no mandates of any kind, just as they were for the fall semester. So normalcy is relative, I guess.
@ShiraDoronMD
As the fall semester ended, case counts were growing at an alarming rate. Is the thought that with high booster penetrance, transmission will be controlled? Or that even with 100's cases/week transmission to more vulnerable persons in the surrounding community will be negligible?
@ShiraDoronMD
NOT. Unless the PCR cycles are counted at a reasonable rates & all testing is transparent and ALL positive tests are matched with active symptoms - the “rules” are a joke.
Thanks to bogus testing,
#COVID19
is still spreading regardless of masks, lockdown, or vaccination status.
