been thinking about the PONI report(s) & ex-SB William Matchett saying the IRA and UVF informers were run in the exact same way. What if the reports found the weapons used to murder Protestants had been handed to the IRA by the RUC/UDR? How different would the response have been?
@Shellmccabe
...and do you think that would be so far fetched?
Maybe not the UDR & RUC but MI etc? I'm sure that there was RUC and UDR men and women who's murders were allowed to go ahead "for the greater good".
@BorisArachnid
I'd doubt they were given UDR weapons or personal protection guns tbh. Strange none of the guns used were ever linked back to them whereas they were in the murders of catholics

different point, I'm interesting in if RUC personal protection weapons or from UDR had been given to IRA and used to kill Protestants. Maybe they were, but if that's the case would the response to such be the same.
@mrfgrimes1
again, that's a different point. It's not about what informers were or were not allowed to do - it's about what the response would be to a report if it were RUC/UDR weapons that murdered Protestants because they were given to the IRA
