@DaddyPobbin
there has indeed, as well as in the Republic. But she's using loyalist violence as a bogeyman and even including dissie violence it's still nowhere near the amount of gangland murders
@DaddyPobbin
not the point, the article was based on scaremongering about how bad one section of a community will be in order to avoid a UI. It wasn't grounded in fact.
E.g. telling people to beware of someone's dog when you've a lion in your own house
@Shellmccabe
The self same outlets that had 'opinion' pieces during repeal about tone, being too shrill, weren't campaigning properly, blah de blah blah. What a shocker.
@Cynical_Colin
Oh definitely, agree with all of that. In NI they’re still considered paramilitaries or troubles related even when we all know what they are. Dissies murdered more than loyalists in north but I only listed them because the article is using them specifically as the bogeyman
@Mimilinsky
@var_dee
the OT wasn't about comparable murder rates, it was someone trying to scaremonger about loyalist murders in particular to promote her own partitionist agenda against a BP. As replies in the thread confirm, dissident republicans killed more than loyalists but that wasn't her point
