It's a new year and with the new year come new plans.
Most of you know me as a photographer and certainly, photography plays a giant role in my creative expression. But for as long as I have been making images I have also been a writer and a fiber artist.
This year my intention in the NFT space is to share some of the work I have been making as a textile and fiber artist.
In 2017 I started a piece of work that took me three years to complete. A quilt that I poured my entire life into called "Everything I Ever Did"
To bring these photographs to life I enlisted the help of an artist friend who illustrated and interpreted each piece. Thank you James Mathers for your brilliance.
I showed the piece along with the images in New York in 2022 and the response was more than I could have hoped for. There was laughter and there were tears. Every person seeing the piece found something that related to their own lives.
I believe that the personal is universal.
I am releasing a collection of illustrated images as an NFT collection on February 7th, on Known Origin.
I have chosen KO as its natural home as
@selfmadeheroes
was one of the people who stood in front of this piece in New York and cried. I have never forgotten that.
This work is a legacy piece for me. It pushed me further than anything I have created thus far and taught me that vulnerability in my art connects me to the whole world.
