The fact that there is ANY consternation over the rescissions package within the Senate GOP caucus is an absolute indictment on the state of play in the upper chamber. America is $37 trillion in debt. There should be ZERO conversation about foreign aid - it just should not even.

Reminder that Alex Padilla did not wear his pin identifying himself as a U.S. Senator. He also lunged at a sitting cabinet member during a press conference instead of speaking with her in private like an adult. Now he’s posing for glamor shots for WaPo. This is also so.
I asked a question—and ended up in handcuffs. If this is how the Trump administration treats a U.S. Senator in broad daylight, imagine what they’re doing to immigrants behind closed doors. We cannot stay silent. We will not back down.

Democrats 100 years ago: “we must fight for fair pay and safe conditions for the working class!” . Democrats today: “if you deport illegal aliens, we won’t have anyone to exploit for cheap labor!” . I can’t believe Democrats are still using this line. It’s so callous and tone.
Immigrants are essential to the backbone of our economy. Mass deportations and cruel policies against hardworking families don’t make us safer or stronger—they weaken us.

Only in California can you get a ticket for parking 19 feet from a crosswalk but not for shooting heroin in a public park around small children.
California is handing out thousands of tickets to residents who park within 20 feet of a crosswalk, even if they're parked against a white curb. This is criminal. Instead of painting the curbs red, California cities are raking in millions of dollars by handing out tickets
