This is unacceptable. The Budget offers no clarity on wider investment, and it is vital that cuts to the Health Element of Universal Credit for 16–21-year-olds are now ruled out. Young disabled people deserve security, not deeper hardship. The Government must do better. 3/3

We welcome the end of the two-child benefit cap. But many disabled families were already exempt and still face significant hardship. From electric hoists to specialist diets, the costs are unavoidable. Yet two in five disabled families skip meals and can’t heat their homes. 2/3

Today’s Budget offers little support for disabled people already facing a financial crisis. For disabled people with complex needs many of whom have lower incomes, higher costs, and less support to fall back on, this Budget falls far short of what’s urgently needed. 1/3

Ahead of Wednesday’s Budget, we’re urging the Government to take practical steps that genuinely support disabled people with complex needs. From protecting young people’s financial security to fixing social care and SEND funding - change can’t wait.

Today, Sense joined members of the Care Support Alliance @candsalliance at the Treasury to call on the Chancellor to urgently provide funding for social care in Wednesday's Budget.

What a fantastic day out. ☀️ Our Young Carers from the Loughborough group had an amazing time at the Seagrave Fun Day Fete! From bouncing about on the castle to meeting the animals in the mini petting zoo, there was no shortage of smiles.

As Geordie and Keith's story shows, life is more expensive for disabled people and their families. That's why we need a social tariff to make sure every disabled person can pay their energy bills. @GMB
