Your liberty is not centered on your ability to freely own a gun, but rather your ability to live freely without being killed by one.

The system is rigged in favor of the super-rich, and it all started with Ronald Reagan. No matter what happens to the economy, the rich always end up richer, and the rest of us have to work twice as hard just to stay in the same place.

Wisconsin was forced to halt $29 million worth of projects to improve our unemployment system due to the President suddenly rescinding the funding in May. $10.5 million of this money was going toward efforts to eliminate waste, fraud, and abuse. This should put to rest any.

The war on drugs has cost our country billions of dollars and millions of lives, and in the end, the drugs keep winning. For some reason, we refuse to learn our lesson and keep treating drug use as a moral failing instead of a public health problem. Last year, felony drug.

Critical research at Wisconsin's top universities is at risk as the Trump Administration seeks to cancel the remainder of millions of dollars worth of grants. The first number is the total awarded amount, the second is the remaining amount Trump wants to claw back.

Wisconsin currently ranks 48th in the nation in measles vaccinations among kindergartners at just under 85%. Public health experts say that a 95% rate is necessary to prevent outbreaks. With 9 measles cases confirmed in Oconto county, it’s especially important to get vaccinated.

Now, he's ordered the arrest of all absent Democratic legislators and even threatened their removal from office. Arresting political opponents is exactly what authoritarian regimes do, and is not something we should ever accept in the United States of America.

ICYMI: Donald Trump asked the Governor of Texas to gerrymander the state to create 5 more Republican House seats. Supplicant Greg Abbott obliged, and Texas Democrats took the bold but necessary step of leaving the state to prevent the quorum needed to vote on these rigged maps.

Good news! Madison-based Raven Software, most known for their work on the Call of Duty series of video games, just ratified their first-ever union contract with Communications Workers of America. In an industry where hours can be incredibly long while pay and job security are.

Unfortunately, the President decided that rather than reassessing his chaotic approach to trade he would instead fire the person responsible for reporting the data. It's the kind of thing that dictators in failing nations do, not the leader of the world's largest economy.

President Trump's tariff tug of war is starting to become a real drag on our economy. Not only are consumer prices remaining stubbornly high, last week saw the release of the worst 3-month jobs report since the pandemic, and the worst construction jobs loss since 2013.

We need more worker protections - not bills designed to allow profitable companies to shirk their responsibilities to the people who create those profits - their workers.

If you've ever wondered why issues that aren't important to most people get moved to the top of legislative agendas, you only need to follow the money. For the first 6 months of 2025, by far the top-spending lobbying interest in Wisconsin was DoorDash. They spent $1.37 million,.

I want to take a moment to thank Carl Schulze for his 125-mile journey across Wisconsin in his wheelchair to raise awareness of the home caregiver crisis. These vital workers should be paid a living wage with benefits. Not only do disabled individuals like Carl rely on their

The Republican state budget that passed last month will raise property taxes on the median value home in Wisconsin by $280 in the 2nd year of the biennium compared to what the Governor proposed. When Republican legislators tout tax cuts, remind them that they overwhelmingly.

Big thank you to Senator Tammy Baldwin for voting with the majority of Senate Democrats yesterday in support of Sen. Bernie Sanders' resolution to stop arms sales to the Netanyahu government. Until Israeli military forces stop their genocide against the Palestinian people, they.

It's time we stopped treating healthcare like a consumer good and instead made it a basic right with a single-payer, universal system that can never be taken away.

Imagine paying 5 times as much for a TV or an iPhone just because you used a different credit card than someone else. That's exactly what happens every day at WI hospitals. If you have Medicare you are charged one price - if you have private insurance - well, it depends where

Wisconsin has some of the highest healthcare costs in the U.S. One way to measure this is by comparing what private insurance pays relative to Medicare. By this measure, Wisconsin patients with private insurance pay 3.2 times the Medicare rate for the same service!. Some states,.

Healthcare decisions should be made by you and your doctor, not the penny-pinchers at for-profit insurers. It's time Wisconsin took a more active role in reigning in predatory insurance practices.

Have you or a loved one had their insurance company deny a claim for doctor-prescribed medication? You're not alone. Between 2016 and 2023, drug denial rates at private insurance companies in the U.S. increased by 25%, forcing patients to delay treatment, accept alternatives, go.
