Today marks the 5 year anniversary since quitting my 9-5. I used to be fat, broke, and miserable... and that all changed a few years ago. ๐Ÿงต

Here's a pic of me in 2015. You can't see my belly, but I was a tubbyyy soy boi. 5'9 and weighed around 185 at the time.

When I took that pic I was: - alcoholic - in $56k of debt - a debbie downer - worked in a soul sucking 9-5 - eating 4 packs of Top Ramen daily - known as the "cheap guy" cuz I had to bum off friends Embarrassed to look at this and think back to who I was a few years ago.

What changed? I reached a point where I was in so much PAIN from being a piece of shid that I had no choice but to change. I was tired of being broke. Tired of being a fat turd. Tired of being called cheap. Tired of working next to Margaret the tattletale at my 9-5.

So I decided it was time to wake the fck up and change. When 2016 started, I bought a journal called the "Freedom Journal" In big bold letters I wrote this down on the cover page: "By the end of 2016 I'll lose 25lbs, have my own ecom biz, and be debt free."

At the time I didn't know how. But I just needed a north star. And I tried a lot of shit. I invested in ecom courses and coaching. I went on the Keto diet and stopped getting fricked up on booze so often. I sold a knockoff version of a YETI tumbler on Amazon.

I built a few dropshipping stores and ran FB ads to them. I learned more about email marketing so I could sell more of my products. And when I finally started seeing traction on my stores, I put all of my focus there.

It took me about 3 months to figure out the direction to go in. And 3 months after choosing a path? My stores were doing over $100k/mo! My take home for that was right around $30k/mo, maybe a bit more. And this was life-changing money for me.

I wiped out my student loans, started catching drinks at the bar, leaned down to 155lbs, and was able to quit my job in September 2016. It hasn't all been smooth sailing since then, but I'm grateful for the journey.

It started with me being in PAIN and wanting to get rid of it. Made a big plan to get rid of all the things I hate. And broke that plan into smaller actions to focus on. In less than a year I achieved everything I set out to achieve and became a completely different person.

Everyone has their own path... but if you're in PAIN, have the hunger to make things happen, and create your own plan to do it? Things can change in a hurry. So keep at it. Rooting for you ๐Ÿ’ฏ
