Would this be a good time to mention that Nebraska ranks 49th in the nation in state aid to public schools. Wrap your head around that......only one state in the Union contributes less to public education than Nebraska does. Come on @GovRicketts , that’s not good enough.

As we consider these limits, I also want to note that we can continue to support strong public schools. As I have done every year as Governor, my budget proposes to fully fund state aid to the K-12 education formula with an additional $42.7 million over the biennium.

@KKluver It’s the percentage of funding for public schools that puts NE 49th. Our formula for calculating aid puts a disproportionate burden on property tax payers. Rickets wants prop tax relief, yet won’t budget more for schools.
