Excited to share our new work on the generalization of quantum models in large-qubit limit. We show that a simple hyperparameter trick takes a quantum model from provably not being able to generalize to any target function to good generalization for well-aligned targets!

Awesome video, complete with a cameo from @argonne 5th lab director Robert Sachs
Be one of the first to watch our latest video about how math is used in the development, discovery, and manufacturing of vaccines. The video features SIAM member Jeffrey R. Sachs, who leads vaccine modeling and simulation efforts at Merck.

Once a year, I get to dress up, introduce the principles of Hamiltonian mechanics as they pertain to molecular dynamics + Liouville’s Theorem, and gush about the (remarkable, almost unreasonable) beauty of velocity Verlet as a symplectic integration scheme. I love this job. (1/2)

So proud of recent post-doc Michael Servis for starting his independent career with a major win!!!
Congratulations to Michael Servis for leading one of the successful projects! A great collaboration between our group Brian Stephenson (MSD), Maria Chan and Subramanian Sankaranarayanan (CNM). @argonne

Our latest (and awesome) collaborative paper advancing the roles of data and molecular science at the middle scales of materials where there’s plenty more room than what you find at the bottom. https://t.co/R3XkcgLlMv

For the 1st time EVER I'll reach my goal of having my #SIAMCSE21 talk written before I leave my house! Ok, my talk is tmrw & I currently have 3 slides, but the conference is virtual & level 5 restrictions don't allow me to leave the🏠, so... go me? @AcademicChatter @TheSIAMNews
