This is much the same experience logistically except it doesn't feel as deliriously bizarre or magical, it's just a really good defense and an offense that only occasionally can do anything

There's moments here that are cute, and the animation isn't bad (although it had nothing that wowed me like the "Mouse of Minsk" sequence in the first film), but there's just not a lot here, and as such, it's sort of a tough hang.

there's an inexplicably large amount of characters who are supposed to be having meaningful arcs or plot points but it's only a 75 minute movie, which means every character feels undercooked AND it makes the film feel much longer;

AN AMERICAN TAIL: FIEVEL GOES WEST (1991, 5/10) - slightly better than the first film, mostly because the soundtrack isn't QUITE as bad, but still sluggish and digression-heavy; the film just sort of plops down for 5-7min at a time, with little to meaningfully connect the bits
