Innovation grant scheme winner spotlight! Dr @SarahMaddocks, from Cardiff Metropolitan University, will be researching a 3D printed, lab-based chronic wound model that mimics the human wound environment without using any animals or animal-derived tissues.

I recently came across the Singing compost heap at @cardiffmet Bacteria in the soil generate a small electrical current. Microbial fuel cells harvest the electricity. A solar powered circuit generates a sound that varies according to the microbial activity. Amazing!
