Kanipakam is just around 67 km from Tirupati, a 1 hr drive by road. So any time you visiting Tirupati, you can pay a visit to Kanipakam, and have darshan of Varasiddhi Vinayaka.

The river Bahuda, flows by Kanipakam, so called as it's believed a devotee called Likhita, whose hands were chopped off for stealing from the king's orchard, were miraculously restored here.

One more interesting feature of Kanipakam Temple is that the idol of Vinayaka keeps growing every year, much like the Nandi at Yaganti Temple, in Kurnool. Right now, you can see the knees and abdomen of Vinayaka.

The brothers were cured of their handicap, and the wonderstruck villagers, finding the murti of Vinayaka in the well, built a temple for it, and it began to be called as Kanipakam, as was found in a water well. This is the Swayambhu Murthi of Vinayaka at Kanipakam, who is.

Apparently there were 3 brothers in the village, one was deaf, another dumb and the 3rd blind. One day they found that water had dried out in the well, and as they dug deeper, it struck the idol of Vinayaka in the well, gushing blood.

Kanipakam located in Irala Mandal of Chittor dt, gets it's name from the Telugu word, Kani meaning wetland, Pakam meaning flow of Water. It is so called, as the Vinayaka Murti was found in a water well, here, and is a Syawambhu one.

Not Kanchi, it was Tiruchenkattankudi, village of the Pallava commander Paranjothi who built the Uthrapathiswaraswamy Temple, where he remains venerated to this day. Paranjothi later renounced war became a Shaiva saint and is one of the Nayanars.

Vatapi = badami. Iirc, the pallava king defeated the hoysala/chalukya king of vatapi, and with great reverence brought the Ganapati of vatapi back to his own capital kanchi.

Rana Amar Singh, son of the legendary Maharana Pratap, fought a long war with the Mughals, but had to finally surrender and sign a peace treaty. He however made it clear, that no Rana would ever appear in Mughal Court, they would send a representative instead. And no.

One of childhood memories of Vinayaka Chaviti watching movies every night on a 16 mm screen, with an old projector. The entire street or park used to be turned into a mini theater. From oldies to youngsters to kids, friends, uncles, aunties all used to be there. Typically there.
