A great resource to TRULY understand how a fungicide works. Understand the inputs you invest in.

Winterkill in alfalfa occurs when plants do not survive winter; winter injury is when plants survive the winter but are injured due to death of fall-produced buds on the crown. Symptoms include exposed alfalfa roots, stand reduction, crown and root rot, a below ground dark line

I’m not anti-drones, especially in some of our fields in SW IA that can be challenging with trees, etc…but like everything, the operator’s skill & experience level is key!

Good read. Profitable read. Study the moisture chart within this article…targeting 14% moisture would be my recommendation.

A few percentage points of moisture could mean thousands of dollars — and fewer beans on the ground. Here’s how to keep more money in your pocket. https://t.co/lsC4CMO65R #NebExt #nebraskaag #harvest25 #cropproduction #agtwitter #soybean @UNLExtension

Corn leaves are turning brown or are already through the chaff spreader. But here's a poster you can print to keep your eyes tuned for corn disease ID next year. Download at https://t.co/hij9oaY7qO. #corn #agtwitter

The severe Southern Rust this season will absolutely affect stalk health. Keep scouting through harvest. Stalk health is going determine harvest order this year

Severe foliar disease can weaken corn stalks. Test stalks using the pinch test and prioritize harvest for that field if 10 percent or more stalk rot. Ask local Extension for more info. @alisonrISU @DTelenko @MandyBish1 @maddishires @MartinChilvers1 @badgercropdoc @tjcksn

#Preceon PR116-20 Boyer river bottom near Missouri Valley, IA. Ear count 40K. High winds hit this farm a couple weeks ago while soils were saturated. Really leaned the tall corn on this farm. Preceon had zero root lodging @Asgrow_DEKALB @Dekalb_Asgrow

"Foliar symptoms alone are not enough to diagnose [sudden death syndrome]. It is important to inspect plants closely, dig and inspect roots, and split soybean stems open. After splitting stems, the pith of a plant infected with SDS will be white even if roots are severely

Finds for the week in SE IA: drawn out pollination, Northern Corn Rootworm damage on rotated corn, early dent thanks to our prolonged heat wave, and some fields with awesome looking potential! Have a great week 🙂

@badgerbean Here are some data on spraying active white mold at R5. In short, if you like to spend money with NO ROI, have at it. Otherwise, hold onto the money and go fishing!
