Terrific Maggie-Lee Huckabee key note address challenging us to think about our approaches to dysphagia rehab. Also - tough gig taking photos from the front row! #SPAConf2024

Important information for speech pathologists wanting to work in one of the MRA countries - what is it, what’s the eligibility criteria and interesting to see how many people are using the MRA fast track process (esp the 2022 data!) @SpeechPathAus @IALPAKL2023

This cohort responds well to vocabulary intervention and developing inference skills. It’s important to realise that comprehension varies within an individual. This means that motivation can be finessed. Nice work @katrina_kelso….

These aren’t necessarily a clinical population who meet diagnostic criteria for #DLD. However, there’s certainly a need to look at students in middle primary if we are to deliver intervention that is life changing

M4D #SPAconf Poor comprehenders constitute around 7% of students. They decode text well enough, but don’t understand text and therefore are generally not picked up in education as potentially benefiting from assistance Kellso.

Fabulous reflections from Kyomi Gregory-Martin: Language is amazing & it has shaped the world. Beyond the theory - how are we being culturally responsive in reality? Cultural humility is a lifelong process - understanding comes from knowing community. #SPAconf

Let’s talk about “ism’s” that sneak into the ways of going about speech pathology. Professor Kyomi Gregory-Martin kicks off #SPAconf with an in-depth discussion of cultural humility in the speech pathology profession.
