Bhyrappa directed that the house should house a library and music recordings to promote Kannada literature and preserve his own literary contributions. All copyrights, manuscripts, royalties, and intellectual property relating to his writings belong to Sahitya Bhandara.

Dr. S.L. Bhyrappa’s Mysuru residence at Kuvempu Nagar will become the office and memorial of the SLB Foundation. His wife may live there during her lifetime but cannot sell or mortgage it. After her lifetime, the house fully passes to the Foundation to serve its literary mission.

Dr. S.L. Bhyrappa’s will states that all his wealth and assets should be given exclusively to the SLB Foundation to nurture emerging Kannada writers, prepare the next generation for Kannada literary service, and support education for underprivileged children in rural Karnataka.
