Thank you, @NickKristof, for helping to shine a light on our latest study's findings! Eye care is a critical tool to alleviate poverty, and needs to be part of every effort to build healthier, more resilient societies.
An underrated element of global poverty is blindness -- because of cataracts, vitamin A deficiency, river blindness, trauma, trachoma and more. These are often preventable, very cheaply, and there has in fact been huge progress in several of these. A new Seva study estimates $1.

2/Thanks to a door-to-door eye screening at Priya’s home, she was diagnosed with a refractive error, referred to our partner hospital for surgery, and received a pair of eyeglasses. Now, with restored sight, Priya is back in action living life to her fullest.
