Thanks for raising awareness about the flour dust hazard. Most people don't realize that flour is a "chemical hazard" - both as an inhaled hazard and a dust explosion hazard. Too many wonderful chefs have been sidelined due to occupational asthma related to inhaling flour dust.

Bakers: Dust clouds arise from throwing flour, disposing of empty flour bags and brushing. Bag emptying, sieving, dough making & dusting tasks all create a lot of dust. Start mixers on slow speed until wet and dry ingredients are combined. Use dredgers or sprinklers for dusting.
