It makes me sick to my stomach listening to Gillian Keegan telling the country teachers are paid a high salary.
This is an outrageous lie.
My son’s teachers are brilliant people, they work tirelessly to educate under terrible financial conditions.

I suspect the government have a hidden agenda to break the unions. It was a vote winner for their awful idol Thatcher! Personally I’m hoping it backfires on them!
@SASR666
Modus operandi for this gov't. To lie about, to demonise, to try & divide public support against those fighting for better pay & working conditions. Except Teachers, Nurses, Drs, Paramedics, rail workers, civil servants etc, we are ALL the public. We stand together in solidarity

I am shocked by how Irish teachers who return home to teach from the UK all stress the workload and pressure that teachers in the UK are under. Endless box ticking and testing getting in the way of teaching and the result is burn out.

What they should do is change the system to allow teachers to have ‘expenses’ just like the MPs! That way they can hire their ‘own staff’ as extras (partners mums dads sisters etc) and any extras they need to keep our children well educated. My sister gave up teaching too 🙁
@SASR666
Depends on the teachers. Secondary school teachers are underpaid for what they have to put up with, Primary school teachers are overpaid for what they're expected to do.

A small, but important, insight into teachers' vital role. As a governor at my daughters' school, I would sometimes be at the school 7am (prep for special days) and other days, leave after 6pm (running clubs). They were always there before my arrival and left after my departure.
@SASR666
You make a claim about teacher’s salaries then instead of giving evidence for that claim you switch to making further claims about their teaching abilities. I hope you exhibit better argument skills when dealing wit pupils.
