Sad to share that longtime
#Flames
organist Willie Joosen has passed away. Willie was basically the soundtrack of
#Flames
hockey at the Saddledome dating back to the late '80s. He'll be sorely missed by everyone connected to Flames hockey.

Aw, this is sad news. When watching the games he would always do the "woo-ka-coo" ending of the anthem. It has a special place at our house on Flames game day.
@RyanNPike
Oh man. He was such a talented musician. Worked with him in the late 80's and early 90's before the new jumbotron was installed in the Saddledome. So sad. RIP Willie.

I had the pleasure of meeting him as a Club Flames Jr. Organist. He was dedicated to his craft and was an excellent person. He invited me to Studio Bell for a demonstration and I remember how chill he was. He loved what he did and he was just as much as a Flames fan as us. RIP.
@RyanNPike
As an Oiler fan, so sorry to hear this news. RIP Willie. You will be missed. A dying art form. More arenas need to go back to the live keys!
@RyanNPike
For anyone applying for the job…remember the legend…and good luck…not many can play Slayer and the Zelda theme within a hockey game and blow peoples minds!
