I’m back after another long break from social media. I had to put together my health and other projects in my life before focusing more fully on this chess project. Some of you asked why I’m into chess. It is an emotional attachment that would take long to explain. I will most

Words can’t describe how heartbreaking the passing of my coach, Daniel Naroditsky, is. Just a few days before the Grand Swiss tournament in Uzbekistan which took place a little more than a month ago, I asked him to coach and accompany me. Even though it was a last-minute

If only Kramnik had said he couldn't imagine Danya was in such critical situation, I wouldn't think he is inhuman. Speech is free. But now claims he knew Danya was on the brink. So if you knew, Mr.Kramnik, why did you keep banging on him?

@VBkramnik I never said you ruined anyone's life. I asked a question if it is worth it to ruin a young life over a game that they may or may not have cheated? If you feel someone cheated, just report them and move on. Or don't play online.

I was trying to keep this out of my mind, but while retrieving some photos for a friend, I came across this one from the SuperNationals in Orlando (May 2025). It’s not the last photo I took of Danya (I saw him again this summer in Wisconsin) but it was the last time we talked.

Completely heartbroken. Daniel was not just someone I played thousands of games with on @chesscom and @lichess - he was a brilliant mind and a gifted teacher. (1/3) @ChessbaseIndia @FIDE_chess @CLTchesscenter @chesscom_in @chessdom

@advorkovich @FIDE_chess Please, take action and bring justice for Danya and all of us!
FIDE will establish a special prize in memory of GM Daniel Naroditsky. FIDE President Arkady Dvorkovich (@advorkovich) shared this on social media.

It is the saddest and most tragic day for the world of chess. Daniel Naroditsky has passed away at age 29. He was a bright young man. He was special, he was something else. He was my favorite; the most excellent and dedicated chess coach and streamer. You'll be missed, Danya.

I used to sympathize with Kramnik when he joined twitter, and believed he had noble intentions. But the evolution of his conduct has proven how wrong I was. Now I believe Kramnik to be a sort of remorseless psychopath.

What a humble nice fellow was Daniel Naroditsky.
In February 2022 Daniel Naroditsky sent me a message to say that he appreciated my blog & my posts on Twitter. I was really touched then that he, already a famous figure in chess broadcasting, should take a moment to encourage an ordinary guy like me, and I still am. RIP Daniel.

It's difficult to come to terms with the news we heard yesterday. Danya was so loved in the chess world. He was incredibly talented, as a chess player and also as a teacher, writer, and commentator. His passion for chess shone through when he was commentating and when he was

I am heartbroken by Danya’s passing. We both grew up in the Bay Area, and I looked up to him from a young age. I vividly remember our first blitz games when I was nine, he was kind and generous with his advice afterward. Years later, I ran into him on a flight home from the

My thoughts are that if you see chess as just a game like any other, then it sucks. I personally really don't see it that way. It has unique history and cultural standing and should not get reduced to be measured only by numbers.

Yasser Seirawan just told a killer story: Lasker smoked the worst smelling cigars. During one tournament, the players all chipped in to buy him good cigars so they wouldn’t have to endure it. But when Lasker sat down to play Nimzowitsch, he brought the old bad ones. Nimzo quickly

Who are the living legends of chess? Who are those who will transcend in chess history? Players in their prime only (25-45 years old). I'll go first: 1- Carlsen. 2- Caruana. 3- Aronian (hopefully). 4- Ding (as a world champ). 5- Nepo (candidates dominance). Who else?
