@Rothmus The fair tax is bullshit pushed by a bullshit organization speaking from my interactions with them. But yes repeal the income tax and abolish the irs.

@Rothmus This will either die before a floor vote or a 10 year study will be commissioned to estimate the necessary tax rate. Also, this means nothing unless Congress is forced to balance the budget. Well be taxed via inflation, although that would bring in additional taxes. Lotsa vars.

@Rothmus No sales tax. Cut the fat from the federal government so you don’t need to add an extra tax.

@Rothmus A national sales tax, while much simpler, doesn't solve the problem of over taxation. We need to replace the tax with tariffs. Then this new sales tax wouldn't be necessary.

@Rothmus I was completely on board until the last thirteen words. While I do agree that would be better than what we have now in most ways, there are all kinds of reasons I think we need to pump the brakes and figure out something better than a national sales tax.

@Rothmus A national VAT is actually a bad idea. As in all things government the new tax rate would grow, constantly getting hiked higher. Look at Europe, terrifying.

@Rothmus MSM is begging for the pace to let up. Not gonna happen. They'll have 20 years of headlines in a year.

@Rothmus The income tax was put in place with a Constitutional amendment (yes, I know its ratification is suspect, but it's fait accompli now), and you need a Constitutional amendment to properly kill it.

@Rothmus If Trumps administration gets this through and RFK Jr. makes America Healthy again, this will go down as the greatest administration ever put together in American history. The blind will refute it for a while, but the evidence will become overwhelming quickly! This will truly set

@Rothmus If we MUST have a tax, let it be a consumption tax not a tax on our labor, and let the states administer it so we, the states, can withhold it if the federal government strays from their sandbox.

@Rothmus Most income taxes discourage work/production, sales taxes discourage trade. Both cause lower supply and higher prices. We can do better by shifting income and sales taxes onto things of high demand and fixed supply which will increase productivity, wages, and lower prices.

@Rothmus In Canada, my last LNG bill for home heating was 37.1% taxes. This after my already nearly 30% total income taxes. So $400 in income is reduced by $120, leaving you $280, then a $280 LNG bill has $103.88 in taxes. Out of that $400, I'll pay $223.88 in taxes.

@Rothmus I think the federal tax should be the one to stay, and all the other BS to go.Lets pay only once that’s all. Now let’s thrive to eliminate waste on the gov spending and keep our progressive federal tax but let’s say adjust the brackets and the % so we owe less.

@Rothmus The problem is that now DC is paid more for inflation. We need a 10% flat income tax so they have to raise wages to get more money. Bring more manufacturing home not more cheap Chinese bullshit.
