After several years of planning, I'm excited to announce that construction has officially started on the redevelopment of the Waterbury Train Station. This is a central component of our overall plan to modernize all six stations along the Waterbury Branch Line.

Across Connecticut, we’re investing where it matters most: in the places people call home. Today in Waterbury, a $4M state grant from the Community Investment Fund is renewing West Main Street’s infrastructure and building a stronger city.

Buddy Altobello was a charismatic man who loved having the opportunity to represent his hometown of Meriden at the State Capitol. I will miss his witty sense of humor and the many stories he told. My condolences are with his family and friends.

These insurance rate hikes are absolutely unacceptable. My parents, both in their 70s, have been paying their premiums their entire lives. Now that they’re on a fixed income, insurance companies are raising rates, forcing them to consider dropping their coverage. #Shameful
An important story in continuing investigation into elder care in Connecticut - the skyrocketing cost of long term care insurance and the elderly residents caught between paying as much as 170 percent increases in policies as they reach age they need it.

Thank you Mr. Secretary. You made our state proud. @SecCardona @teachcardona
Today I am signing off as the Secretary of Education, my dream job. What I used to tell my students on the last day of school is that this isn’t goodbye, but rather a celebration of our time together. This is the same, here are some things I’m celebrating today. 🧵1/6

For decades I have fought to ensure that public servants get the full Social Security they have earned. Tonight, we passed the Social Security Fairness Act and finally got it done. This is what it means to fight for the Dignity of Work.

We do hope the beautiful rep-am building, the long-ago Union Station, can evolve into a beautiful future. Please support your local newspaper that calls it home base, because quality local journalism is a beautiful thing, too.
