@omalley4sean
Mine was TMNT and AD&D was about 5th on my list. Let me tell you, when I had to get used to "just standing there" while the enemy tried to hit me and couldn't parry or dodge I wasn't a happy camper.
@RogueScholarMDC
Noice!
Me and a buddy sat down and recomputed Mega-Damage to real-world weapons.
I couldn't get him to play otherwise. XD
(Too OP, in his perspective. =])

@roguecaliber
I'm still trying to learn that one, but the art has been an inspiration for decades (especially that one shot at night with the adventurers looking over an illuminated leyline)

"nah...RIFTS is a copy, a riff if you like, of D&D. It came around almost 15 yrs later after Mr. Gygax made the OG. Nice game though...like MechWarrior and Armored Core actually...or Conan and The Warlord.
@GreySentryPrime
Wellll the 1st game they made was Mechanoids and that came out in 1981 and the Fantasy game came out in 1983, Robotech in 1987... so definitely a few years after D&D but certainly laid the groundwork for other stuff throughout the 80s leading up to Rifts as the "all genre" game.
@RogueScholarMDC
Go for that Rogue,
:-D
And the confused meta discussion that follows,
when they try to define rifts from DnD to your,
Defining DnD from rifts.
Can I listen in?
@RogueScholarMDC
Of course I started with D&D, then I found WEG Star Wars, but in college I was introduced to Rifts and was hooked after getting the core book.
