At Rock Trust, we support a lot of young people with care experience, and we advocate for their rights and entitlements. Yet the harsh reality is care-experienced young people across Scotland are still being forced into homelessness when leaving care- this must end.

🧵 Last week our staff and young people joined the conversation on the @scotgov's consultation to develop a universal definition of ‘care experience’. The debate was passionate, and we heard from a range of experienced voices advocating for young people with care experience.

Last year, we helped more than 90 young people through the Housing First for Youth (HF4Y) programme in West Lothian, Fife, and Glasgow. HF4Y model acknowledges that young people have specific needs and focuses on those requiring high levels of support. #EndingYouthHomelessness

Last year, through our Upstream Scotland programme, 1,225 young people were surveyed across six schools in Edinburgh, Perth & Kinross, and West Lothian. Out of that total, 11% were flagged at risk of homelessness and they were offered one-to-one expert support from our team.
