Never once have I heard a coach say “we’re tracking this 12 year old.”.
Recruiting does NOT start at 16U or sophomore year of high school…. It starts WAY earlier — more like 12U (or even 10U) with development, training & exposure. When people say they’re waiting to move to a national team or schedule until sophomore/junior year “to save money”….
