Couldn’t agree more! Make it mandatory so that people can make informed choices. It’s not about stopping people from ever eating these products but helping them to get past the marketing claims and know these foods should be enjoyed occasionally

Fantastic poster from @jesstaggart94 on the co-designed Mama-empower mobile app for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women targeting health behaviours during pregnancy. Such a well designed app in consultation with community. #HCRASYM19

New paper out in @IJBNPA with @DavidHammondPhD. Spoiler alert: if nutrition information is posted right on the menu, people are WAY more likely to notice and use it. Customers don't notice or use information if they have to ask or look for it.

Have a go at this Health Star Rating quiz, it might surprise you. Since I regularly refer to the HSR in my work with canteens I did quite well but for others, particularly the general public this quiz helps to highlight misleading marketing claims.

Confession time. I've been regularly buying a product in this quiz that I *thought* was healthy but is actually trash. Can you pass @lprzhedetsky 's food quiz?

But it’s understandable considering the number of ‘nutrition experts’ spreading misinformation on these topics.

Yes plastic bags are just part of the plastic pollution problem but we have to start somewhere. Ban the bags whilst also working on a solution to decrease plastic waste more broadly, you can do both!

NSW is the only state without a plastic bag ban. Meanwhile the plastic bag ban is estimated to have saved 310 million bags from landfill in ACT, 360 million bags in WA and 400 million bags in SA. That's a lot less bags at risk of entering our oceans.

Almost a quarter of Australian children are overweight or obese. We need an effective scheme to reduce children’s exposure to junk food marketing. Here’s what the Federal Gov must do to protect our kids - https://t.co/mDvc60bI0k https://t.co/XlLbFprCkp

I love this! I hope the supermarket giants listen to this, they could have such a huge impact on overweight and obesity just by changing their layouts. UK's first supermarket designed by public health experts launches
